Indonesia Failed to Qualify AFC U-19
Two wins against host country Vietnam and weak team Guam, quench the thirst of Indonesia team for victory after heavy defeat against South Korea and Australia on AFC U-19 qualifying round. Indonesia ranked third in group elimination stage and failed to qualify for the AFC U-19 final round.
Indonesia lost 2-0 against Australia in the first match. Indonesia gave serious balancing play in the first half. Unfortunately it did not happen on the second half. Daniel Mullen and Mitchell Nichols scored two goals to win the game.
Indonesia lost 3-0 against South Korea in the second match. The domination of Korea in the game was predicted, since the team has just hosted the FIFA U-17 couple of months before the AFC U-19 qualifying round begun. Indonesia managed to keep the game tied on the first half but two goals from Cho Young Cheol and Lee Seung Yeol, and an own goal by Mahendra Saputra, disrupted Indonesian games in the second half.
Indonesia won 2-0 against host country, Vietnam in a tight game. Harmoko and Riski Novriansyah scored a goal each on second half after a draw result in the first half. Finally at the last match against Guam, Indonesia scored 12 goals to none. Egi Melgiansyah and Ricky Ohorella scored 3 goals each. Lucky Wahyu and Ramdani Lestaluhu scored 2 goals each. Hendro Siswanto and Riski Novriansyah scored a goal each.
Coach Bambang Nurdiansyah said that this qualifying round was a good experience for the players to improve their skills. Beside that, they also know how to measure their level in Asia.
